Cowboy Breakfast is painted in oil on birch wood panel, shaped in the silhouette of a standard rounded arch, with gilded sides. You can see the slightest hint of the gilding along the front edge.
A cowboy stands before my preferred breakfast of steak, eggs, and butter, and begins to pour coffee from a French press while a curious horse waits for an invitation. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day when it looks like this!
I included a specific 1978 collectible Garfield mug that matches the one in my shared studio’s kitchen. These are available on Ebay and Etsy still. In the comic on the mug, Garfield, sleeping, thinks, “I’ve never seen a sunrise. I’m waiting for the movie,” and on the side that I’ve painted, he points at a sunset, thinking, “Such a beautiful sunset… And me, without a horse.”
Height: 20" x Width: 15"
oil on 3/4” deep birch wood panel, with gilded edges
A new arch will be released every other week, and email subscribers have the first opportunity before the painting is shared publicly. The next Gothic arch preview for subscribers will be on November 11th. Join the mailing list to be sure to get the preview in your inbox.
